Yelena Isinbayeva jumped 4.92m on Sep. 3rd in 2004 and broke her own World Record in doing so. One year later Isinbayeva improved her own meeting record to 4.93m. Two of the brightest female pole vaulters on the scene are eager to attack that spectacular 4.92m mark. Newly crowned Olympic Champion Katerina Stefanidi wants to end a fantastic season – she also became European Champion and is already assured to win the Diamond Race – with a new personal best. Stefanidi has a PB of 4.86m but has already crossed the bar at 4.90m indoors.
Sandi Morris is another contender in the Pole Vault. The great American talent was a victim of an atrocious injury after a serious fall in Ostrava. But after her recovery Morris managed to catch the silver in Rio. The personal bests of Morris stand at 4.95m (indoor) and 4.93m (outdoor).
